The dhoku Approach

dhoku operates as a vertically integrated textile atelier, where design vision, weaving expertise, and production come together within a single structure, shaped by  experience since 1989

From bespoke residential commissions to architectural scale projects, each rug is developed through a dialogue between space, material, and technique.

From Shearing to Weaving

The Quiet Rhythm Behind Every dhoku Rug

Production Infrastructure

Across the villages of the Aegean region, dhoku’s master weavers work on dedicated looms, where each rug begins its life through time-honoured weaving traditions.

The final stages take place at dhoku’s factory in Istanbul, where each rug undergoes refinement, finishing, and quality inspection.

This integrated structure allows dhoku to produce both limited editions and large-scale architectural commissions with the same level of precision and care

Material & Craft

dhoku sources wool from free-grazing sheep raised across remote Anatolian villages. Premium wool is carefully sourced in collaboration with regional  specialists, ensuring the tactile richness and longevity that define every piece.

These natural fibres carry subtle variations in tone and texture, giving each rug depth and character that cannot be exactly replicated.

dhoku also offers long-term care through maintenance, restoration, and consultancy services, ensuring that each piece continues to age with integrity and preserve its presence over time.

Artisanal Legacy

Dhoku works closely with a community of master weavers across Anatolia, supporting generations old craftsmanship and safeguarding this living cultural heritage.

By nurturing  these artisanal traditions, dhoku helps preserve the knowledge, skills, and cultural memory embedded in handwoven textiles for future generations.
